Volusia County, FL – In May of 2001, Volusia County officials implemented a substance abuse treatment program. Six years later, they eliminated this same program. In 2009, FAITH won commitments to reinstate a new and improved substance abuse program (through Haven Recovery) for Volusia County inmates, one which also provides diversion and continued treatment in a residential facility upon release. The program currently saves the county more than $620,000 a year, and 475 inmates have successfully completed treatment.
